Changes at Pond / Bistro Cassis
May 30th, 2009From Philly.com:
Pond and its smaller Bistro Cassis in Radnor have stopped indoor a la carte dining in favor of alfresco prix-fixe menus.
It’s part of Pond’s new focus on private dining.
Pond offer an outdoor grill menu on the terrace, priced at $19 for lunch and $29 for dinner. Summer hours are Wednesdays to Fridays 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for lunch, and Wednesdays to Saturdays, from 5 to 9:30 p.m. for dinner. (The garden room will be set up during inclement weather.)
Dinner selections include ahi tuna tartar, diced avocado and lime cilantro dressing; gazpacho with crab claw and pepper vodka; and grilled hanger steak au poivre. Additionally, Pond is creating picnic baskets for consumption on the grounds or to take away.

Horrible meal Friday night July 17. Ordered ahi tuna; it was inedible, unchewable, uncuttable. Sent back half and couldn’t eat the rest. Tasteless and bland for both of us as well. Appetizer was white bean salad; beans tasted as if they had been taken right out of can. Complained and manager who was drinking martinis a few tables away from us never came over. Didn’t charge for martini which was also horrible; supposed to be dirty martini but there was no olive juice that could be tasted. Don’t waste your time. Unfortunately, this restaurant is on its way out if this continues.
