Stella Blu and the Return (sort of) of Bella Luna

December 28th, 2007

Conshohocken’s Stella Blu has retooled, updating their menu to move away from traditional Italian and focusing on small and large plates with a Euro flair. Nightly specials will feature fresh fish and premium grilled meats.

Also, the owners of Stella Blu and Gypsy Saloon (and former owners of Bryn Mawr’s Bella Luna) have opened Bella Luna Pizza Kitchen in Conshy, transforming the former Diuccio’s Pizza into an upscale spin on the traditional South Philly sandwich and pizza shop. All sandwiches are made with Boar’s Head meats and traditional South Philly seeded bread.

I went to Bella Luna with a heavy heart, as I was a Diuccio’s diehard. I worked nearby and went every other day. Overpriced, pretentious and poorly executed sums up the few attempts I made at Bella Luna. The locale has changed hands a half dozen times in my eight years working here. Hopefully the next tenant gives me a reason to stay on this side of the bridge.

I do PR for Stella Blu & Bella Luna Pizza Kitchen. So, I hope no one will mind me posting this information…

Stella Blu just launched their new website:

Bella Luna Pizza Kitchen’s will launch in February.
In the meantime, the revised menu is posted here:
