NEW LIFE COMING TO CLOSED JOHN HARVARD’S BREW HOUSE ON THE MAIN LINE

It s official! The former John Harvard’s location in Wayne/Devon has been taken over by 2 seasoned pros/vets in the restaurant biz – Joe Carney ( Carney’s Cape May ) and Steve Finley (Finley Catering). Both partners, who live locally, are very excited about bringing their new concept to the Main Line . . . which will be a tailor fit to the market and location.

In talking about their new venture, Finley said, We are looking forward to serving the Main Line community with the same high-quality food and service that we are known for at Finley Catering . . . with an additional infusion of creative energy that will be reflected in both the Menu, and the design/ambiance of the space. We want the people to go Wow ! – not only when they walk in the door . . . but also when they sit down at the table and take their first bite. Carney added, We re committing to a big investment in the complete renovation of the building, and a lot of work will go into the design and feel of the Restaurant & Bar . . . to be sure that it s right . This new spot will not only become one of the area s best food/restaurant establishments, but, we also want to develop a go-to meeting-place / gathering-place Bar for the Main Line, with some energy & excitement . . . which is a niche we feel is missing in the market. We expect to be here for many years, and want to create a business which will become part of the fabric of the community, as well as a crossroads for its residents. We couldn t be happier in acquiring this premier Main Line location. The restaurant will also have a special banquet/meeting room, which will accommodate parties of up to 100.

The real estate broker who worked on the deal with Carney and Finley – John Wilks, of The Windsor Realty Group – commented that, This is a perfect match of location, operators, and concept – it couldn t have worked out better. There is no doubt in my mind that these 2 guys will hit it out of the park with their new restaurant venture.

Carney and Finley expect to open their new Restaurant/Bar around September or October, but have not yet decided on a name. Look for more to come this summer . . . or just stop in at Carney’s Cape May when you re down at the Shore, to get the latest.
